Transcom
Transformation Committee (Transcom)
Overall Goal
Transcom’s main goal is to develop the infrastructure needed to support and sustain effective recovery oriented, peer-directed, culturally appropriate mental health services in Massachusetts
Vision:
We envision a transformed system where people with mental health and addiction recovery needs have access and informed choice to a range of services and activities that support their individual recovery needs. People are supported as they participate fully in their community and achieve their personal recovery goals.
Mission:
To serve persons with mental health conditions, including those with co-occurring addiction needs, by establishing flexible peer driven infrastructure across the state that will support recovery oriented services and activities that respond to individual and community needs. Transcom will foster the development, promotion and coordination of innovative recovery oriented best practices.
Background
Transcom members were brought together in November 2004 to provide support for Center for Medicaid Services Mental Health Systems Transformation Grant.
As a diverse stakeholder group, Transcom is committed to strengthening recovery principles to transform the mental health system and bring the voice of people with mental health recovery needs to bear on mental health policy issues.
