JOB POSTING Metro Suburban Recovery Learning Community Program Coordinator


Job Summary: The Program Coordinator will be responsible for advancing the Recovery Learning Community's (RLC) mission and core values while building and participating in a highly collaborative team of workers and volunteers. The Coordinator will oversee the development and facilitation of all RLC components. The Coordinator will work with the Guiding Council to further the vision of the Metro Suburban RLC.

Reports to: The Executive Coordinator of Recovery Learning Community Central West and Metro North.

Employment Status: Regular full-time employee. Salary: Salary 40-45K, negotiable depending on experience. With fringe benefits package including 3 weeks of vacation and health and dental insurance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaboration
* The Program Coordinator will collaborate with regional peer-run services, other RLCs and the state-wide consumer community and the Metro-Suburban Guiding Council.
* The Program Director will communicate and collaborate with Metro-Suburban and Guiding Council, Executive Coordinator and Transformation Center effectively and be a liason with all funders and agencies.
* The Program Coordinator will take the lead in assessing what peer-run activities currently exist in the Metro Suburban Area and what type of peer support activities are requested by people who use or would like to use mental health support services.
* The Program Coordinator will oversee the Back to Work Finances initiative, the Personal Wellness Recovery Planning Project and all other Peer Facilitator projects and trainings.
Leadership
* The Program Coordinator will ensure that all ongoing projects have necessary leadership and will empower consumers to take leadership roles.
* The Program Coordinator will provide oversight of the RLC with Executive Coordinator.
* The Program Coordinator will supervise the Peer Advocacy, Peer Support and Office Manager/Volunteer Coordinators.
General
*The Program Coordinator will provide direct peer service as a part of his/her work which may include individual and/or group peer support or peer advocacy (including systems advocacy).
Qualifications:
* Lived experience of mental health recovery is important.
* Proven leadership ability a must along with the ability to develop a strong team.
* Demonstrated ability to foster a highly collaborative, empowering and positive environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to juggle several tasks at once.
* Prior experience facilitating groups and/or meetings.
* Supervision and organization skills.
* Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation with ability to travel regionally regularly.
* Sense of humor.
* Massachusetts Peer Specialist Certification a plus.
* Experience providing training and/or as public speaker a plus.
* Being Bi-lingual/Bi-cultural a big plus.
