Peer Mentor at South Shore
Great opportunity exists for a Paid Peer Mentor at South Shore Mental Health!!!
Part time – 20 hours per week
The Transition-Age Resources and Community Supports (TRACS) program helps young adults (ages 16 to 25) who have been diagnosed with mental illness. The peer mentor works both individually and as part of a team to provide advocacy and ongoing support to young adults, assisting them in the areas of employment, independent living/community living support, education and recreation. In addition, assists in the development of life skills through involvement in various social and peer support groups. The position will involve being on the road a large amount of the time providing outreach services in the Canton and Quincy, MA areas. You will be reimbursed for your mileage.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma-College experience preferred
- Driver’s license and access to personal vehicle
- Successful candidate must be a previous consumer of mental health services
