Seeking Board of Directors members for The Transformation Center !

Dear Community Member,
Please consider nominating yourself or someone else to join our Board of Directors. Board of Directors members have to live in Massachusetts and have personal experience of a mental health diagnosis or of extreme emotional states. We are looking for diverse voices on our Board, so don’t hesitate to nominate yourself or someone you know who is a person of an under-represented community. We are open, interested, and welcoming to the issues of people from all cultures and life experiences.
We would like for potential Board members to feel they are in a place of wellness and recovery. Members of the Board must be willing to dedicate 8 – 10 hours per month to attend Board and committee meetings, and prepare for them.
Most of us have found that participating in the leadership of The Transformation Center, and this movement, has been a rewarding, if sometimes challenging, part of our own personal growth and recovery.
To start the process of nominations to the Board, please request a nomination package from Gail Shamon or Catherine Quinerly at the Transformation Center office. You will see the contact information, which includes a toll-free number and email, on the bottom of this letter. The package includes information about the duties and responsibilities of Directors, a sample calendar of activities the Board is involved in, and nominating forms.
The Annual Meeting and election will be held the third weekend in November.
We will be glad to help you complete this process by answering questions you may have about the position, the forms, how a Board functions, or the work of its members. We can also send a copy of our current by laws if you want them.
We will call you or email you to confirm that we have your nomination. If you do not hear from us, please call before October 9th. Then, if the nomination has been lost in the mail, you will have time to fax another copy to us by October 9th. We apologize for this complication; however we need to ensure that we have a complete list of nominees to announce before the date of our Annual Meeting.
